Athleisure And The Rise of Athflow 2021
“LSP Fashion Trends Series - II”
What is your perception of how
fashion designing evolved in the past year?
This is my first to start a post with
my opinion.
Before the pandemic, fashion was
usually driven by creativity conceived by designers. They would conceive an
idea that would then become either a trend or a fad. The 1980s and 1990s were the best fashion
trends in my view. Since Covid began, global perceptions changed for all aspects
of life. I could say it affected the designers too, although there has been no
creativity since 2019. Their conception unconsciously transitioned to
perception. So now I will ask again. What is your take on the current fashion
trend? My verdict?
It’s nothing more than perception and
push!
Now let’s jump into athleisure and
Athflow. Before I explain the latter, I want to say sorry Pinterest team and
Kanai, but I don’t think I would be quoting you much! Because this is going to
be my own interpretation of what I understood from you the upcoming trend to
be. All for love! To my lovely audience, I’ll keep the definitions very short.
Athleisure
Athleisure stands for athletic leisure aka aesthetically appealing comfort wear blended with activewear. Just accessorize your athletic ensemble to look stylish! The athleisure aesthetic has evolved into a streetwear style since 2020. The other day I saw this woman wearing mustard joggers with an ivory lace blouse, matched with a monochrome bag and white sneakers, and she looked woah! (I’m quite straight).
My recommendation? Dress up your athleisure wear with white ankle or knee-high boots for the perfect street style fashion moment 2021. Or more still, wear a shrunken fitted top with your baggy trousers. accessorize with modern aviators and hit it with sneakers.
Cloffice
The second term is “Cloffice”. Here,
perception is the major factor driving fashion. Most people around the world
are working from home (WFH). So they need to dress up to a refined,
sophisticated, and elegant “professional look” for Zoom calls. Achieving the
seasoned WFH look is Cloffice, which stands for closet plus office.
Athflow
Now, what is Athflow? I’ll quote
Pinterest here because it is their term where athleisure meets elegance. It is
evolving into the next phase of loungewear, a sartorial elegance. Athflow is
professional enough for the “office”, stretchy enough for the yoga mat, and
comfy enough for the couch. Still confused? Allow "ME" to clarify it for
you! It is
Athflow = Athleisure + Cloffice.
Let’s keep things simple and not
complicate them! Changing for too many looks could get overwhelming and
complicated. After all, fashion since last year is pretty straightforward. It
has been nothing other than seeking comfortable clothing. So why not refine
your style once. Bring luxe to your
loungewear. Look polished for your conference call, do your grocery, enjoy your
couch and tea, watch Netflix, and maybe do a quick workout at home or cycling
outdoors if you feel like it. Embrace the future of loungewear, the comfiest
fashion trend. The future of fashion is going to be none other than Athflow. This idea is getting blended into athleisure clothing and could translate
into a mainstream upcoming lifestyle.
Many fashion designers are blending
these already consumer-driven ideas into their collections. Before I give you
some ideas, I would re-assert that I target global fashion. So I prefer
choosing the best options I love out of many and throw you some ideas to decide
what Athflow outfits to buy. Now let’s see how to get the perfect Athflow trend in the second part of "My Fashion Trends Series" conceived by Lifestyle Prism.
